What is CryoPen?
The Cryo Pen uses a controlled flow of liquid nitrogen or nitrous oxide gas to rapidly freeze the targeted tissue. The extreme cold temperature causes the cells to freeze and then undergo necrosis (cell death).
Over time, the treated tissue is naturally eliminated by the body’s immune system, leading to the removal of the lesion.
Is CryoPen for me?
The Cryo Pen is primarily used to treat benign skin lesions, such as warts, skin tags, cherry angiomas, age spots (solar lentigines), seborrheic keratosis, actinic keratosis, and other types of superficial skin growths.

In many cases, we’ll also ask for you to send us a clear photograph of the lesion before your appointment so our clinical team can carry out an initial assessment.
This careful screening process ensures we only treat suitable benign skin lesions, giving you confidence that your treatment is both safe and appropriate. Once we’ve reviewed your GP confirmation and photograph, we’ll advise whether CryoPen treatment is appropriate and, if suitable, book you straight in for treatment.
